Community
Humane Shelter
of Steuben County

Founded in 1973, our shelter supports over 2,000 animals every year. Our mission is only possible through the generous support of our community.

Our Mission

To provide care to all animals in Steuben County.

Each year, over 2,000 animals arrive at our shelter—lost, surrendered, or just needing a little help. We ensure animals receive proper medical care, work to reunite families, offer support to keep pets in homes, and help match adopters with their new best friend. Every adopted pet leaves us spayed or neutered, vaccinated, and ready for a fresh start.

01

Adoption

We match adoptable dogs and cats with their new favorite people by providing adoption resources.

03

Support

We attempt to provide support through donations of litter and food. As possible we compile other resources to keep pets in their homes and out of the shelter.

02

Strays

We provide high quality care to strays as we work to find their worried families.

04

Spay/Neuter

All animals adopted from our shelter are spayed or neutered to help control animal populations. We also strive to provide these resources for community cats.
